Hamburg, 22.12.2020. This traditional German Christmas carol reminds us of joy and confidence, especially in this restless and somewhat different year! Of course, we didn’t let this be missed either and we sent our Christmas greetings to you along with a little surprise. It was really a pleasure for us to see how the mountain of large envelopes grew and literally filled the boxes. After all, all the mail is proof that we would like to express our thanks to just as many business partners and customers for their trust and cooperation.
At the same time, it is important to us, especially this year, to think of the people whose Christmas is overshadowed by great worries. And we don't even need to look far: Hamburger Tafel eV offers those in need every day the opportunity to have a warm meal at one of the 27 distribution points or to buy food that would otherwise often end up in the trash despite being in perfect condition benefit. The year 2020 once again significantly increased the proportion of those who are dependent on help. For us, this was reason enough to refrain from Christmas presents and instead to make a donation to Hamburger Tafel e.V. Unfortunately, the annual Christmas party had to be canceled due to corona and so the management and the workforce decided to include this budget - whereby the total amount was rounded up a little.
On Friday the managing directors Anne Lüders (2nd from right), Thomas Arlit (middle) and Jürgen Matthes (1st from right) presented a check for € 25,000 to Jan-Henrik Hellwege (2nd from right) on behalf of the employees. from left), the managing director of Hamburger Tafel eV and Mats Regenbogen (1st from left), 1st chairman and grandson of the founder of Hamburger Tafel, and hopefully cover a small part of the operating costs that are necessary for the maintenance of this non-profit association. We are happy about every contribution that we can make, because the volume of food donations has still not reached the old pre-Corona level!
We also owe it to you, dear customers and business partners, that we were able to implement this project. With the help of your demonstrated loyalty and your trust in our work, we can say goodbye to a successful, albeit turbulent 2020, and look to the new year with positive outlook. We wish you and your families a merry Christmas, even if the circle of your loved ones can be a little smaller than usual. Stay healthy and make the most of the circumstances, just like us. In the coming year we will tackle the challenges together and implement them in the best possible way.
