Process digitization at EAG

Hamburg, 21.06.2021: Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things are topics that are increasingly becoming an issue for our customers as well as our partners. We at ENGIE Axima Germany have been relying on ERP products (Enterprise Resource Planning) from SAP for more than 20 years and with our R/3 system we have a somewhat outdated, but still solid basis for ours Step into the world of the Internet of Things. This summer, after a preliminary study and the definition of a business blueprint, the changeover from SAP R/3 to the latest version S/4HANA will begin.

In addition to many improvements in performance and in the user interface, it is primarily functional optimizations that make the difference. In addition, there are new functionalities that make much of the previously intensive customizing superfluous, e.g. workflows. The migration will be completed in summer 2022.

In addition, the combination of the S / 4 system with a PDM (Product Data Management) and a PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) system is planned. The PDM provides company-wide information about all data that arise in the product life cycle, as well as about their creation process. To put it simply, PLM is a concept for the seamless integration of all information that is generated in the course of the life cycle of a product. On this basis, we would like to implement an end-to-end solution without any manual intermediate steps, data redundancies, system breaks, etc.

With this digital process optimization, we not only minimize the "Cost Of Poor Quality", but also create transparency that leads to greater efficiency. Last but not least, this system landscape enables digital integration with customers and suppliers. Thanks to a consistent, fully digital system, EAG can work even more reliably and cost-effectively, which makes us even more competitive on the market. But for our employees, too, many boring, "non-value-added" activities, e.g. comparing lists, are no longer necessary, so that our team can focus more on the topics that correspond to their good training in the future. We look forward to the “Go Life” in about a year - digitization at ENGIE Axima Germany is a win for everyone involved!
