Hamburg 26.01.2021: The Corona security measures will continue to accompany us in 2021 and have recently been tightened. While every private person is independently responsible for compliance with the measures imposed, there are repeated calls in politics and the media to oblige employers to offer home offices and to hear or read new regulations.
With all due respect - the impression may well arise that a large number of employers are not acting responsibly and have to be forced to protect their employees and send them to the home office.
As always and in every area of our life, there may be black sheep - a large number of employers, where home office is possible in whole or in part, have been adhering to it for a long time or have taken all measures before politics as such even stipulated it has made.
So does ENGIE Axima Germany. Our top priority has always been the protection and health of our employees and therefore also their relatives. It was a matter of course for us to enable home office from the beginning of the pandemic and to provide the necessary equipment at the home office in good time. Laptops, monitors, additional smartphones - what wasn't available was of course ordered. Over 90% of our employees from the office areas have been working from home for months. The office is only present in urgently needed cases, of course in compliance with a thoroughly prepared security concept. In order to minimize risk, the few employees who are still present have to keep large distances. FFP2 masks are also made available in sufficient quantities.
Strict adherence to all safety measures is also ensured in areas where presence is required, such as in our production. Fixed building sites reduce the risk. Production was even completely suspended around Christmas. Likewise, our employees and subcontractors work for our customers within the framework of the local safety concepts, which have been adapted to the respective working conditions in coordination with us.
We would like the upcoming election campaign and the associated rituals to be kept out of the public debate on the corona measures. General attacks against the majority of employers, for whom the protection of their employees is very important, are simply irrelevant and not fair. In any case, thanks to the extensive measures, ENGIE Axima Germany has so far been able to navigate this crisis safely.
With this in mind: stay healthy, stay in the home office if possible and reduce your contacts, stay confident and sensible, so that at some point we can return to our social contacts with a clear conscience - privately and professionally.
