Hamburg, 13.05.2021: On May 4th the time had come - the second of the four SA’AR 6 corvettes commissioned by the Israeli Navy was christened on a small scale in Kiel due to the pandemic.
These ships are around 90 meters long and 13 meters wide and have a displacement of 1900 tons. ENGIE Axima Germany was entrusted with the design, delivery and construction of the refrigeration / HVAC system for all 4 Corvettes in August 2016.
As with the first completed corvette "INS Magen", which went on tour in November 2020, we were responsible for the ventilation and piping system, the provision refrigeration system and the chillers. The extensive training of the crew regarding operation and many other technical details was also ensured by ENGIE Axima Germany.
The "INS Oz" is still in Kiel for test runs and appropriate training of the crew before the corvette begins its way through the Kiel Canal and will reach the destination port of Haifa a good two weeks later.
The following 2 units of the SA’AR 6 corvettes are also to be completed this year and delivered to the Israeli Navy - of course, like the two predecessors with refrigeration and air conditioning technology made in Hamburg.
